Sculptural glass lighting that blends artistry with technical precision to transform any space. Discover Bocci at Salone, Las Vegas.
BOCCI
Bocci is a design and manufacturing company dedicated to creating sculptural lighting pushing the boundaries of design through experimentation, and research. Founded in 2005 and based in Vancouver, Bocci operates as a hands-on, experimental studio that explores novel production methods, allowing materials to respond according to their inherent properties, unveiling the hidden potentials within glass, metal, concrete, fire, and electricity.
01. Bocci
Bocci was founded by designer Omer Arbel as a place where lighting, sculpture, and industrial design could intersect. From its earliest days, the company focused on experimental approaches rooted in material research and openness to chance discoveries during fabrication.
This philosophy led to distinctive lighting collections, each evolving from deep exploration of glass, metal, and unconventional techniques. Bocci established its own glassblowing studio in Vancouver, giving the company complete creative and technical control over every design — from concept through final production. Today, Bocci's team of skilled glassblowers and artisans handcraft every piece, ensuring that no two are ever identical.
The 14 series launched alongside the company in 2005 and remains its most iconic design. Its success established Bocci's experimental methodology: develop a technique, explore its possibilities, let material properties influence final forms. This approach continues to define every Bocci collection.
02. Bocci: Experimental Design Since 2005
Bocci's lighting collections are known for organic forms, tactile materiality, and innovative fabrication techniques. Each piece is handcrafted in Bocci's Vancouver studio, ensuring that every pendant is unique.
Signature Series
14 — Bocci's first and most iconic design, launched in 2005. Two cast-glass hemispheres form a sphere with a frosted cylindrical void housing an LED lamp. Individually subtle, 14 series pendants gain extraordinary atmospheric power when clustered — from a single pendant to installations of 50 or more spanning entire atriums. Also available as 14p, a portable rechargeable table light.
28 — The 28 series results from an innovative process where air pressure is intermittently introduced into and removed from a glass matrix that is alternately heated and cooled. The result is a distorted sphere with an interior landscape of satellite shapes, including a milk glass diffuser that casts a warm, ambient glow. Available in over 70 colors.
84 — White glass is blown through fine copper mesh within a clear glass sphere, creating soft, pillowed forms that cast a distinctive coppery glow when illuminated. The copper mesh occasionally folds and crinkles during fabrication, making every piece unique.
100 — The most collaborative of Bocci's processes: multiple glassblowers work in unison, fusing glass spheres into interlocking clusters. A diamond saw cuts through the forms, revealing the complex interplay of inner and outer surfaces.
Configurations
Bocci lighting adapts to virtually any architectural application — single pendants, random clusters, hexagonal compositions, linear stem arrangements, or massive installations spanning double-height entries and hotel lobbies. Custom configurations are available for any series.
Materials & Process
Hand-blown glass in clear and grey, copper mesh, brass, powder-coated steel. LED technology with ELV dimming across all current collections. Wall, ceiling, surface mount, and floor options available. Every piece is handcrafted in Bocci's Vancouver studio — no two are alike.
03. The Bocci Collection
Bocci redefines lighting as an immersive experience — where materiality and innovation come together to shape luminous sculptures.
